Vishay was founded in 1962 to manufacture and market foil resistors, an invention of Dr. Felix Zandman, Executive Chairman of the Board and founder.
In 1985, having grown from a start-up into the world's leading manufacturer of thes original products, Vishay began an ongoing series of strategic acquisitions to become a broadline manufacturer of electronic components.
Today, Vishay is one of the world's largest manufacturers of passive electronic components.
Vishay's acquisitions include such top names as Draloric, and BCcomponents (former passive components businesses of Philips Electronics and Beyschlag). These and other names and the products associated with them are integrated into one global company: Vishay.
